Funktionsprinzip
Der EP-SL8501 operates on the epicyclic planetary gear principle. A single planetary stage is coaxially arranged within the sealed housing. The input sun gear meshes simultaneously with multiple planet gears orbiting within a fixed ring gear, distributing the load across all contact points simultaneously. This load-sharing principle is why planetary units achieve significantly greater torque density than parallel-shaft designs of equivalent housing diameter. A precision-ground output shaft or hollow bore transmits the multiplied torque to the driven machine with minimal backlash.

Struktur- und Werkstofftechnologie
The housing is precision-cast from GGG50 duktiles Gusseisen and machined to H7 bore tolerances. Planet gears are manufactured from 20CrMnTi case-hardening steel, carburised to 0.7-1.0 mm case depth and profile-ground to DIN 5 accuracy. The output shaft is supported by back-to-back tapered roller bearings pre-loaded at the factory for zero axial play under combined radial and axial loads. All external shaft seals are FKM-Fluorelastomer rated for synthetic gear oil service at up to 120 degC. External coating is two-coat epoxy primer + polyurethane topcoat, 480-hour salt spray rated.
