Working Principle

Structure and Material Technology
Planet gears use 17CrNiMo6 carburised and profile-ground steel, providing superior fatigue life versus 20CrMnTi at equivalent case depth. Carburising is controlled to 0.8-1.1 mm with a core hardness of 30-38 HRC for impact resistance. The ring gear is 42CrMo4 through-hardened and bore-ground after hardening for dimensional stability. The planet carrier is a single-piece forged nodular iron construction, eliminating the flex found in welded split-type carriers. Output shaft seals are double-lip FKM for long life in synthetic oil service.
