The 4-stage architecture of the EP-CTU3700 stacks four coaxial planetary stages to reach 300:1 ratio from a single housing – eliminating the penalty of mounting two separate gearboxes in series. The factory-preset output bearing pre-load ensures the large-diameter output flange bearing carries combined sprocket chain loads (radial), sprocket offset loads (axial) and overturning moment loads without any play developing over the rated service life.
The optional condition monitoring sensor suite includes a PT100 temperature probe boss in the oil sump and an M8-threaded accelerometer mounting pad on the housing flange. Data from these sensors can be streamed to any PLC or SCADA system, enabling trending and predictive replacement scheduling – reducing unplanned downtime costs significantly on large high-value machines.

The EP-CTU3700 uses 18CrNiMo7-6 vacuum-arc-remelted (VAR) steel – the highest available grade for planetary gear applications – carburised to 1.0-1.5 mm and ground to DIN ISO 1328 accuracy class 5.
