The configurable design operates by selecting either a 2-stage or 3-stage planet train module installed inside the same housing shell. In 2-stage mode the unit delivers maximum travel speed ?? suited to AWP bases that traverse job sites quickly between lifts. In 3-stage mode the same housing delivers maximum tractive effort for pushing through soft ground or climbing steep ramps.
The floating sun gear in both configurations self-centres the load across all planets, compensating for minor motor shaft run-out and extending planet bearing life in high-cycle AWP applications where the travel motor starts and stops hundreds of times per shift.
