Working Principle
Three extra-extra-large-module planetary stages with full oil-jet lubrication and an integrated shell-and-tube oil cooler (capacity: 45 kW heat rejection) ensure stable operation at the extreme thermal load generated by 130,000 Nm continuous duty. Structure and Material Technology
All gears across all three stages use 18CrNiMo7-6 2x VAR steel, carburised to 1.4-1.7 mm and ground to DIN ISO 1328 class 5 accuracy. The shell-and-tube oil cooler is 316 stainless steel tubes in a carbon steel shell — compatible with sea water, river water and cooling tower water. Planet carriers are extra-heavy-section GGG70 nodular iron monobloc forgings. The output flange register diameter is precision-ground to 0.008 mm TIR — the tightest tolerance in the RPR series.
