The EP-CTD3300 serves 30-40 t hydraulic excavators, large tracked road headers, heavy crawler-mounted pile drivers and large-format tracked agricultural machines. The gearbox-integrated dual-speed mechanism hydraulically engages or bypasses the third planetary stage, providing a torque-biased low speed for work and a higher speed for travel ?? all controlled by the machine’s existing travel control valve without additional hydraulic circuit hardware.

Жұмыс принципі
In single-speed configuration, the three planetary stages operate in series providing the full 160:1 ratio at maximum torque. In dual-speed configuration, a hydraulically actuated clutch pack inside the stage-3 housing engages or disengages stage 3 independently. When stage 3 is disengaged (bridged), the unit outputs at the 2-stage ratio ?? approximately 2.5x faster than the 3-stage ratio ?? allowing the machine to tramp to the next work position quickly before re-engaging stage 3 for work.
The dual-speed clutch pack uses sintered metal friction discs rated for 50,000 engagement cycles, managed by a solenoid valve on the machine travel circuit. Speed changes occur smoothly under load at walking pace.

The housing is cast from GGG50 созылғыш темір and externally coated with epoxy-chromate primer + polyurethane topcoat (500-hour salt spray). The dual-speed clutch housing is a separate bolted module that can be removed and serviced independently without disturbing the main gear train. All planet gears use 17CrNiMo6 карбюрленген болат ground to DIN 5. The output bearing is a large-bore taper roller pair pre-loaded at the factory to prevent axial play under the combined sprocket and chain loads of a 35 t class excavator.

Q: Can the dual-speed module be added to a standard single-speed unit already on the machine?
A: No. The dual-speed module requires a specific housing boss and internal bore. It must be specified at order. Field addition is not feasible.
Q: What happens if the dual-speed solenoid valve fails?
A: On solenoid failure the clutch defaults to the low-speed (full 3-stage) mode ?? the machine can still travel and work safely, only without the fast travel function.
Q: Is the clutch module separately serviceable?
A: Yes. The dual-speed clutch module is bolted to the main housing and can be removed without disturbing the gear train. A spare clutch set can be fitted in approximately 3-4 hours.
