Three cascading planetary stages reduce speed and multiply torque from the hydraulic travel motor. The cross-roller slewing ring output bearing is the key structural element ?? it replaces the standard back-to-back tapered roller arrangement used in lighter units and provides equivalent axial, radial and overturning moment capacity in a narrower axial space. This allows the EP-CTD3150 to fit the same track frame pocket as the Brevini CTD3150 while handling the higher moment loads of large excavator grading operations.
