Inside the sealed, oil-bath lubricated housing of the EP-SL302, two cascading planetary stages convert the high-speed, low-torque motor input into a reduced-speed, high-torque output at the driven shaft. A floating sun gear arrangement between stages automatically centres the load distribution across all planet gear contacts, compensating for minor alignment errors between the motor shaft and the driven machine. This self-centering feature extends planet bearing life in long-service installations where perfect alignment cannot always be guaranteed.
